League Leaders: a site that runs itself

A five-league sports reference with 150+ years of history needs fresh data, new content and promotion every day, without a staff.

  • Python harvesters pull from six public sources into one MySQL database (500,000+ player-season rows), plus nightly jobs that update every live season.
  • A video pipeline renders five short videos a night, runs automated quality checks, holds them for review and posts to YouTube, Facebook and Instagram on schedule.
  • A multi-agent photo system: up to ten AI agents find, judge and crop licensed player photos through narrow tools. The agents never touch the database directly.
  • A keyless public JSON API (OpenAPI 3.1), plus IndexNow, sitemaps and AI-crawler verification.

NutriGrove: thousands of orders a day, no technical staff

A DTC supplement brand on Shopify, Amazon and Walmart, run by me and my wife with a contract manufacturer and a 3PL. No developers, no support team, no agency. I adopted each new AI capability as soon as it could do real work.

  • AI content engine: automated keyword research and article writing built a large library of indexed posts, ranking at the top for hundreds, often thousands, of keywords at any given time.
  • AI support: chatbots answered routine customer questions, cutting the hours my wife and I spent on support.
  • Custom Shopify apps: I built private apps that work exactly the way the business needed, so operations inside Shopify ran on their own alongside the 3PL.

Agent tooling: give the AI the keys, keep the undo button

Coding agents are useful until they touch something real, like a live database or a production server. Then there's nothing stopping a bad write, and no way back.

  • OwlSQL: agents query live MySQL read-only by default. Every write is snapshotted first and can be undone, and risky statements wait for a person to approve them.
  • coolFTP: agent-driven deploys that upload only changed files (SHA-256 manifest), undo any deploy and verify the site afterwards. Open source on npm.
  • woodpeckerDig and magpieSnap: pipe crashes, logs and screenshots straight into Claude Code.

TimTech: scaling a SaaS network to ~1M members

A dozen-plus SaaS and lead-gen products (RocketResponder, Trck.me, AdKreator, ListNerds and others) had to scale, integrate and be supported, with one shared customer base.

  • Led the company, 116 full-time employees, and owned roadmaps, launches and pricing.
  • Shipped APIs across the product suite, and ran our own server farm plus dedicated servers.
  • Built a product knowledge base covering every product, so customers could help themselves instead of support repeating answers.
  • Recruited and onboarded thousands of affiliate partners, and ran A/B tests on every funnel.
